Arlington Court is an impressive Regency house with a vast collections of artefacts from paintings to pewter and ships to shells. Set in grounds of 2700 acres with formal gardens, woodland and a lake it's a walkers paradise. The Carriage Museum holds over 50 pieces reflecting the human journey from the cradle to the grave. The estate is also home to a working stables which runs carriage rides during the main visitor season. The Outdoor team help to care for a wealth of animals including Shetland ponies, Jacob sheep and Red Devon cattle, as well as our colony of bats.

Caring for carriages
See how we care for our collection of notable carriages, from the humble dog cart to the grand state coaches. A member of our team will be on hand to answer any questions and demostrate the techniques we use to look after our unique assembly of carriages. On most days a golf buggy is availabel to carry people from the house to the carriage museum. The buggy is also able to carry a wheelchair.

Outdoor theatre - Sherlock Holmes
The Pantaloons, who brought us Grimm Fairy Tales last summer, will be returning to share a tale of wit, comedy and bizarre songs as they bring to life the timeless character of Sherlock Holmes. See if you can help them solve the mystery, before your sides split from laughing!

Companion Dog Show
A great day out for your canine friend. Braunton Dog Club are hosting this dog show in aid of 'Hounds for Heroes'. Rosettes will be given for 1st-6th place, with classes for pedigree, family dog and obedience.

Join Debbie Hastings for a drop-in workshop to learn the basics of rag rug making. See the beautiful pieces she has made from old duvet covers, curtains and clothes and take away the skills and inspiration on how to do this traditional craft. You can also have a go yourself and take away a small sample or corsage.
