Come and make a 'splash' down by our 800 year old mill as Simon shows you how a water wheel works and gets you to make your own!

It's completely free and there's no need to book beforehand, but spaces are limited so get here early.

School Holiday Fun: Pet Pinecones

School Holiday Fun: Colour Detectives

Using our snazzy colour wheel we want you to detect ten places on the estate that are bursting with colour. It may be a rich red leaf, or the cool blue of the river... it's up to you!

Grab a trail from any of our admission points, and if you find ten spectacular colours you could win a prize.

Deer Watch

Do you know your stags from your hinds and your Reds from your Sikas?

See the deer park at its most dramatic as the males vie for female attention in a battle of antlers.

Begin your guided walk of the medieval deer park at the visitor centre.

Winter Bird Walk

Join Robert on a 2 mile walk around the estate to see the birds that make Fountains their home in winter time. Meet at the Visitor Centre.

Follow the various paths, including the Under the Bridges water trail, around the estate to discover the landscapes making up this World Heritage Site. An Abbey audio tour is also available.
