The Centre works with Yorkshire and Humber based companies to further develop the knowledge economy of the region and trans-national links to Science and Technology based organisations such as Space City Korolov, Moscow and NASA space camps as well as the European space camp.

The Centre currently boasts a state-of-the-art mission control with the latest computer hardware and specially designed software to allow the feeling of a truly real mission control centre. There are plans to incorporate a simulated space shuttle. There is a 'Mars scape' artificial extra terrestrial landscape and a workshop room enabling young learners to build space related hardware such as a Mars rover to explore the Martian landscape.

The Centre also has a radio link which can track satellites and converse with Space City in Moscow and even talk to astronauts and cosmonauts on the International Space Station. There is also a Science Dome which can be used as a planetarium and many other interesting activities.
