Heritage Open Days 2014: Farnham Maltings
- 11 — 13 September 2014
The Farnham Maltings was saved from demolition in 1969 by the people of Farnham, who raised £30,000 to buy it from the then owners Courages. The restored Grade II listed buildings are now home to a thriving and lively arts and community centre which is the focus of much of Farnham's cultural life. The earliest records of the site, in the mid 18th century, show it to have been a tannery, a hundred years later it became a maltings and brewery. On Saturday the Maltings will host a Pop-up Craft Workshop. This artist led workshop is entirely free, there is no need to book and its suitable for all ages. Come and join in! Also on Saturday 'Buildings of Merit in Farnham', a collection of architectural drawings and photographs by architect Michael Blower. The exhibition will run until the 24th.
Please refer to the Heritage Open Days website for booking details and timings.
