The Late Shows: Behind the Mask

  • 16 May 2015 6-11pm

Sanctuary Artspace and the CoMusica Arches present ‘Behind the Mask,’ looking at the story behind Newcastle’s connection to the rave scene’s most iconic band, Altern8. There will be an exhibition of Altern8 and Tyneside rave memorabilia and several special commissioned paintings reflecting on the theme of masks and encapsulating the energy and innocence of the early rave scene. Across the evening there will be musical representation from Newcastle’s TruOldSkool collective and an exclusive performance by Altern8 themselves. For families with young ‘ravers’ we recommend coming down early as from 6pm until 7.30pm we have live art demos and a chance to customise your own rave mask with the CoMusica Arches team.
