The Valiant Soldier is an old pub dating back to the 1800s. It was closed by the brewery in 1965. The Landlord and his wife were so upset by this decision that they left everything untouched for over thirty years. When the Landlord's widow moved into a residential home in the 1990s the pub was bought by the Buckfastleigh Trust, restored and opened as a museum complete with all its original contents including optics, old coins, Woodbine signs and the family's memorabilia, photos and the Landlady's 1950 clothesand hats.
Come and visit the Valiant Soldier where time stood still.
