A Seed Grows

  • 4 April — 4 June 2016 *on now

Yorkshire-based Nicola Rawlings constructs an arrangement of elements which when joined create an impermanent pattern linked to their counterpart forming a network of systems. Many of the forms are constructed using assorted gauges of silver wire representing the use of line expressed within contemporary art. As with many abstract forms black areas dominate, to represent this she incorporates elements of ceramic stoneware, a media she has previously explored for its tactile surface and intense appearance. Used alongside rubber and vibrant elastics she creates bold contemporary statement pieces designed for the everyday and the extraordinary.
