At DIG! you will become an Archaeological Detective, and find out for yourself what York was really like through the ages, from Roman times to the present day.

You will get the chance to excavate objects from the streets of York and then decide what they are, what they are made from, and why they got there.

On your journey as an Archaeological Detective you will find out about the work of the many different types of Archaeologists, including field archaeologists, researches, curators, and conservators.

You will also have the chance to meet real archaeologists and talk to them about their work, see and handle artefacts from York and view recent exciting discoveries.
