Brewery Arts Centre

The Brewery Arts Centre opened its doors in 1972.

Since then it has hosted thousands of exciting and vibrant artistic events with many famous names gracing the stages of the Malt Room and Theatre performance spaces.

The Brewery has evolved to become one of the most important education centres for the arts in the North West with an extensive programme of arts based learning for all ages, abilities and interests.

Trace Monotype Print

Learn how to make unusual one-off prints using the Trace Monotype printmaking technique. Invented around 1900 by Paul Gauguin, this deceptively simple technique allows the participant to transform simple line drawings into deeply expressive prints with subtle textures and flashes of colour.

Collagraph and Carborundum

Almost any material with texture can be collaged including paint, fabric and leaves, the resulting impression is that of embossing as well as printing. Carborundum is used to add tone and texture to an image and is an exciting medium to experiment with.
