Science Oxford Live is Oxfordshire’s cultural centre for science and enterprise. Science Oxford Live is the place for anyone and everyone to come and be engaged by the wonder of science.

Science Oxford Live is an experiment, and anyone who visits Science Oxford Live is taking part. We’re looking for the best and most effective ways of sharing the importance of science and the best way to do this is by experiment. We’ll try new types of exhibition and new ways to engage the public.
The discovery zone is an investigation area to experience science first-hand with equipment that allows you to fire a vortex or air, send secret whisper messages across the room, colour your shadow and much more.
All our activities are hands-on and we encourage you to explore science by playing. From soft foam building blocks to a video microscope, the discovery zone has something for curious minds of all ages.

Inventing Isobel

A school workshop for Key Stage 1 available in conjunction with a visit to Science Oxford Live
Isobel is a great inventor, or so she thinks. However with the pupils' help, she soon discovers that she has chosen some unusual materials for her inventions, and that she needs to think more about their properties before she creates something new.

An upper Key Stage 2 show in conjunction with a visit to the discovery zone at Science Oxford Live
Lilly loves Sir Isaac Newton and tries to get him to notice her. She has lots of demonstrations involving pushes, pulls, magnetism, gravity, air resistance and friction - and is always trying to show that girls are better than boys. Pupils use their own knowledge and ideas to try and catch her out!

Science Oxford Next delivers show and workshops in Oxfordshire in your school, all designed to support science, mathematics and design & technology.
Shows can accomodate up to 60 pupils
Workshops can bu run for 30-60 pupils.
We can fit three KS 2 shows/workshops or five KS1 shows/workshops in a standard school day.

Science of Magic

A lower Key Stage 2 show to book in conjunction with a visit to the discovery zone at Science Oxford Live
Ziggy is the worst magician in the world. This show encourages pupils to ask 'How?' and 'Why?' as they use their observational skills, knowledge and creative thinking to help Ziggy come up with some cool tricks for his new magic show.
