Craven Remembers the Somme

Skipton Library will commemorate the centenary of the Battle of the Somme as part of Skipton’s Armed Forces Day, giving local people to opportunity to remember those who took part in the most famous battle of the First World War.

Groups from all over Craven will be exhibiting their latest research on how the Somme affected life in the towns and villages across the district. Representatives from the Heritage Lottery Fund will be there to advise on funding support for First World War projects.
