We know how busy life can be which is why we’ve made it much easier for you to take advantage of our free library services without leaving the house. You can join online as well as renew and reserve items from home. Use our free online reference shelf to help you practice for your UK Driving Theory Test or check out our 19th Century British Library Newspapers: 2 million newspaper pages to access at home!

Hayward Memorial Local History Centre Lingfield
Hayward Memorial Local History Centre, Lingfield, is based in Lingfield Library, and you can use the local history centre resources at any time that the library is open.
Even better, visit us at the following times each month when volunteers are available to help you use the resources and equipment.

The local history centre exists to encourage interest in local and family history in Blindley Heath, Crowhurst, Dormansland, Felbridge, Felcourt, Haxted, Horne, Lingfield and South Godstone.
We offer an extensive range of resources including census records, parish registers, large scale maps and photos.
We provide a microfilm and microfiche reader and there is access to the internet on the library computer terminals.
If we can't answer your question, we can refer you to local experts or Surrey History Centre. When the centre is not staffed you can leave a written enquiry.
