Upminster Library is situated on the eastern edge of the Borough of Havering and is well used by the residents of Upminster, Cranham, parts of Hornchurch and parts of Essex.

The Library was originally situated in “The Clockhouse” in St Mary’s Lane. The Library in Corbets Tey Road was opened on the 2nd October 1963 and underwent an extensive refurbishment during 2004.

The newly refurbished library opened in January 2005 and is a positive focus for the local community. The building has an open welcoming feel and includes Peoples Network computers and a Meeting room.
