Commuting via road, the library is a short drive from both the A127 and the A12 where they meet at Gallows Corner junction.

Gidea Park is a small branch library which offers various events and clubs throughout the year, along with free internet access. The library was closed for four months in 2005 to be refurbished.

Gidea Park is a mainly residential area situated between Romford Town Centre and Hornchurch. The area incorporates the Romford Garden Suburb, including the exhibition houses of 1911and the Romford Golf Club, which were built on the grounds of the original Gidea Hall.
