Glasney College Finds
Glasney College, founded in 1265, was one of the most important of Cornwall's religious institutions. Its church dominated Penryn for almost 200 years and it was the birthplace of many Cornish plays. Beatifully-carved architectural stonework is on display, alongside smaller finds from more recent excavations.
Local History Collections
Penryn is one of Cornwall's oldest towns, having received its first charter in 1236. From Medieval Penryn through to modern day, the history of the town, and the people to who lived and worked there, is fully represented in the varied collections of the Museum. One curious exhibit is this 'Plague Rat', found walled up under the stairs of a building during rennovation. It is thought to be around 400 years old.
