2013 Brings - A Jaw Dropping NEW TOUR opening up parts of the bunker never before seen by visitors - Including the Long Forgotten Orignal Heart of the Bunker along with AREA 7 the most recently used and just decommissioned area.
YOUR CHANCE TO VIST THIS UNDERGROUND WORLD set deep below the East Yorkshire countryside just three miles from Withernsea (19 miles from Hull) - The Massive 35,000sq ft Bunker started life in the 1950's as an Early Warning Radar Station - In 1985 it became Headquarters to RAF Support Command and in 1995 it went on to house an Experimental Electronic Warfare HQ.
Now fully open to visitors you can visit the many Offices, Plant Rooms, Canteen, Hospital - Telephone Exchange - Communications Centre & Operations Rooms including the Long Forgotten Heart of the Bunkler and the just decommissioned Top Secret AREA 7 - nearly 100ft below ground. Filled with authentic artefacts depicting it's operational life, our Fully Guided Award Winning Tours are enhanced with Sounds, Films, Demonstrations & Shows - All tours are conducted by fully qualified guides with Question and Answer Sessions & Photo Opportunities.

RAF HOLMPTON contains a major PUBLIC TOUR AND EXHIBITION depicting over 50 years service of this major UK Command Centre. The exhibiton covers the first 25 years of Radar, the subsequent use of the site for RAF Support Command and its current use today. The exhibition is interperetd by a full guided tour, audio visuual presentations, demonstrations and shows. The site contains a great deal of authentic apparatus and artefacts depicting the life of the facility.

Gates open 9.30am - Admission from 10am until last admissions 12 noon for Free Access to the Bunker - Explore on your own - Take as many photos as you like - No sound effects or videos just a quiet environment with our staff on hand to help with any questions -Then if you like collect a discount voucher for £5 and come back in the afternoon for the fully guided public tour, that will bring the bunker to life with films, shows and demosntrations - This is our 3rd year of offering this very popular event.

Getting there
Take the A1033 to Withernsea then opposite the Total Petrol Station take the
road signed Holmpton & Underground Bunker. Follw the road 3 miles to Holmpton and then drive straight through the Village and take the 1st turn right signed RAF HOLMPTON & UNDERGROUND BUNKER, our gates are then 750yds on the left.
