A project that documents the history and experiences of Asian, Black and Jewish people in modern Britain and the interaction between these groups.
In 1998 the Jewish Council for Racial Equality (JCORE), the Asian-Black-Jewish Forum and the Parkes Institute for the Study of Jewish/non-Jewish Relations at Southampton University initiated a major history project, looking at the hidden histories of Asian, Black and Jewish immigrants to Britain and their comparative experiences.
The result of that project is the Connections website and a colourful and dynamic 24 panel travelling exhibition (particularly aimed at young people aged 11 - 14 but suitable for all), supporting teaching materials, activity sheets and an ineractive CD-ROM. Education consultation and participation in our outreach programme is also offered. The exhibition is available to hire free of charge for schools, small musuems, libraries and community centres but is now fully booked until September 2007.
