18th-century watermill with well-preserved machinery. This large timber-framed mill on the River Tillingbourne was given in 1932 by a group of anonymous NT benefactors calling themselves ‘Ferguson’s Gang’.

Meet the Millers

Our millers will guide you around the mill and show you what it was like to be a Victorian miller. Mill your own special Easter stone-ground flour.

On the Gunpowder Trail

Take a step back in time and enjoy a boat ride to the historic Wey and Arun Canal, once a highway for gunpowder. Walk beside the peaceful Cranleigh Waters and discover a hidden viaduct; return by boat. Lunch at a pub or bring a picnic.

The Miller from Mapledurham

The Story of Port, By One of the Family

Meet the Shepherd and Spinner

Local shepherd and lady spinner will demonstrate the art of spinning from a Jacobs sheep fleece and show you how to make a friendship bracelet from the spun wool.

Wharf to Mill by Boat

Boat from Dapdune Wharf to St Catherine's, and then walk across the boardwalk to the mill. Have a sandwich lunch on the lockside, then boat back to Dapdune.
