The Garden was the Pleasure Grounds for Dukes, Duchesses, Princesses, Kings and Queens that lived in the Mansion. Now it is a 49 acre, 18th century landscape Garden offering peace and tranquillity in safe surroundings together with a level pathway around the serpentine lake and a unique turf amphitheatre. Visit Claremont and experience its beautiful and often surprising features, including the Belvedere Tower, Camellia Terrace, ‘wild’ animal statues and grotto.

An opportunity to visit one of the oldest buildings on the Claremont estate dating from 1715. It was designed by Sir John Vanbrugh for the Duke of Newcastle. Today the Belvedere Tower is owned by Claremont Fan Court School who kindly let us show it to the public on the first full weekend of every month between April and October. There is a steep spiral staircase to access the roof which is not suitable to less able visitors. Pushchairs can be left with the steward on the ground floor. National Gardens Scheme Day
Garden is open in aid of the NGS with a FREE Guided Walk with one of the Gardens Team. Learn how we look after our garden, and pick up some useful tips for yours. The garden is open in support of the National Gardens Scheme and all entrance money will be donated towards the charity it supports. FREE Guided Walk at 2pm with a member of the Claremont Garden Team.
