What it's all about... The spirit of the museum is to provide information for pottery lovers and researchers about the many Cornish potteries and the potters, decorators and ceramic designers who have worked in Cornwall. Special attention is given to marks and signatures to help researchers with identification wherever possible. Where the information comes from... The main feature of the museum is that images and information are provided by contributors from around the world - several hundred so far. Contributions are fully acknowledged if the contributor so wishes. Some prefer to remain anonymous. The copyright of images and text remains with the contributor and contributions can be withdrawn at any time. These contributions are combined with footslogging research around the highways and byways of Cornwall and eye-blurring study of existing published sources. Further contributions are always welcome, such as background information, potters' CVs, missing dates, corrections and of course images of pottery pieces and their marks and descriptions. Information directly from potters and decorators is especially welcome as we can keep track of where they are now and what they are doing as well as where they were and what they did. This information is essential to keep the web site dynamic and up-to-date.
