The Tolkien Society was founded in 1969. It is a literary society which focuses on J R R Tolkien author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

The collections include copies of most English editions of Tolkien's works and many foreign editions. There is also a large collection of Tolkien related magazines, fanzines and newspaper cuttings as well as artistic and commercial products inspired by Tolkien's work.
