The Devon & Cornwall Constabulary Museum exists to collect, document, research, preserve, interpret and exhibit material evidence and associated information relating to the history of policing throughout the counties of Devon & Cornwall, in order to contribute to the Force aims of reducing crime and the fear of crime. Police history can help to show how the concept of policing developed; how society has changed through the ages; why having a police force is important and how contemporary police men and women work today. The collections of the Devon & Cornwall Constabulary Museum span from the early C19th to the present day and comprise documents, equipment, fine art and photographs.
