The museum occupies the ground floor of a 17th century, stone built house which was originally used as a farm. We have a charming garden with a small outdoor display of artifacts. The museum is in the centre of the village, which has many interesting buildings and shops. Free car parking is available nearby in the Market Place or in either of the two car parks in the village centre.
There are two main display rooms for the annual exhibition and a reception area with information and a display on the village. An interactive computer facility provides visitors with a series of visual displays showing historical aspects of the area.

- The tradition of organised sports clubs is well established in the village and our Castle Donington clubs have been in the forefront of significant competitions and leagues for the last hundred years.
- One room is devoted to individual achievers - those who have learned skills at local level and who have gone on to professional sport, some representing their country with great skill.
