The first museum in Britain dedicated to computing opened in Swindon, February 2003. In June/July 2009 the Museum of Computing moved to new premises in Theatre Square between the Wyvern Theatre and the library.

The Museum holds a repository of artefacts and has active displays featuring retro and vintage games. It also provides a forum of provision lectures. Functioning as a hub of digital and interactive learning, the museum inspires all ages to get involved with a wide range of exciting opportunities for kids in a friendly and supportive environment.

Getting there

We are located by the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon town centre. The nearest car park is the Wyvern multi-storey. We are about 15 mins walk from the train station.

We have something on every weekend in August - come along and have some fun!

Friday 4 / Saturday 5 August - Brick Bonanza we'll be playing Lego games, building with Lego and Duplo, and building in Minecraft. Come and build a Lego house to add to our Lego village.

Friday 11 / Saturday 12 August - Handheld Heaven Are you old enough to remember the days when a handheld device held one game, and could keep us amused all day? We've got some of our favourites ready for you to try. Anyone else love Alien Chase?

Friday 18 / Saturday 19 August - Robot Reboot Our robots have escaped from their cases - can you control them?

Friday 25 / Saturday 26 August - Mario Mayhem Our favourite hero will be taking over, as we run as many versions on as many consoles as we can.

We're family friendly, and all activities are included in the standard admission charge.
