The Architecture Centre is an independent organisation dedicated to the exploration and promotion of excellence in all aspects of the built environment. It was founded by the Bristol Centre for the Advancement of Architecture (BCAA), a charitable trust. The Centre's programme includes exhibitions, guided tours, visits, discussions, workshops and lectures. We are also working with schools and colleges on ways of using the built environment as a teaching medium. The Centre's principal aim is to encourage public demand for excellent design by increasing people's awareness and enjoyment of their built environment. We also aim to provide a meeting place for all professions involved in the creation and maintenance of the built environment.

Bristol: Ambitious City
"I hope this exhibition sparks many more projects that help define Bristol as the city of ideas."
George Ferguson CBE
The city’s most visionary ambitions lie at the heart of this exhibition at the Architecture Centre. The exhibition uses five themes to identify different areas of ambition for the city, with contributions from some of Bristol’s key partners. Curated in consultation with the Mayor of Bristol and Bristol City Council’s City Design Group, Bristol: Ambitious City represents an opportunity for everyone interested in their environment to get involved and help shape their city.
