Sound & Light at Night

  • 16 May 2015 5-8pm

As part of Museums at Night, the late night festival of arts, culture, and heritage, Enginuity will be opening its doors on Saturday evening, 16 May for a free family event. Visitors are being asked to help create a spectacular image of the Iron Bridge by using a state-of-the-art laser cutter to personalise a coloured acrylic tile.

Some 144 tiles will be assembled to create a dramatic image of the world famous bridge. Each will carry a person’s name, etched on by the high powered laser cutter in Enginuity’s state-of-the-art Fab Lab design and manufacture facility.

At the end of the evening, light will be projected through the tiles creating an image of the Iron Bridge. This amazing light show will continue with projections of historic images of industry, along with photographs of the latest technological innovations, all accompanied by music and a fascinating voice over. The finished creation will be placed on permanent display at Enginuity.

Visitors will also be able to experience the giant techno exhibits in Enginuity.
