Stowe is a 100ha (250 acre) work of art, both beautiful and full of meaning. With its ornamental lakes, glorious open spaces and wooded valleys, adorned with over 40 temples and monuments, it is one of the supreme creations of the Georgian era.
The lengthy programme of restoration began in 1989 and is now two-thirds underway. Today you can enjoy the unrivalled beauty of Stowe as its former splendour emerges.
Stowe House, magnificent home to Stowe School, is opened to the public by the Stowe House Preservation Trust.

Guy Scott Art Exhibition
This exhibition showcases the beautiful line drawings and works of local artist Guy Scott. His artworks capture the atmosphere and conservation work of the National Trust during the restoration of New Inn, and 18th century coaching inn. This free exhibition is open 10am-4pm for one week only, with artworks available for sale.

Stories in the park at Stowe
This event will be fun for the whole family! In partnership with Buckinghamshire County Councils Culture and Learning department, there will be fun activities for children of all abilities. As the theme of this event is to promote stories and learning for all children and to support families with children with disabilities, there will be expert advice and guidance on hand, multi-sensory stories, opportunities to meet authors and book characters like Percy the Park Keeper.

Minibeasts make and take activity
Summer has finally come and Stowe is a magical place for minibeasts of all shapes and sorts, particularly dragonflies that can be seen darting around the lakes. Lookout for the irridescent emperor dragonfly with its sparkly emerald eyes and bright blue shimmery body. Come along to Stowe with your family to explore the different habitats for minibeasts, and make yourself a pipecleaner dragonfly to take away. This children's make and take activity is free. Normal garden admissions apply.

Drawing course led by Guy Scott
Be inspired by the history and atmosphere of the New Inn. Guy Scott will be leading a drawing workshop and talking about the techniques he has used in his line drawings, as part of the art exhibition at New Inn. Then have a go at creating your own drawing of New Inn and the surrounding area. Instructions and advice will be given to workshop participants. The ticket cost is £15 per person for the drawing workshop. The combination ticket for the drawing workshop and talk is £20.

Minibeasting
Join us for a minibeasts hunt in the landscape gardens. Free event. If you have a bug pot, then bring it along to collect your own lovely critters to study up close before releasing them back into the wild again. Please note that the minibeasting activity starts at 10:30am, but please allow half an hour to walk from New Inn to the Temple of Friendship (where the event starts).

Greek Myths & Monsters
Join us for a walk in the gardens with storytelling at the Temples. Discover tales about mythical monsters and dark, dark places in the landscape gardens. Dare you hear tales about the three-headed dog Cerberus that guards our grotto or the compelling sounds of Pan and his flute.
