Our timeline extends from the Stone Age over 5000 years ago, through Iron Age, Roman and new for 2016, a Saxon Longhouse.

Exploring ancient technologies, and allowing 'hands on' activities for visitors.
You can also join us for a festival, special event or ancient skill workshop.

Summer time: April to September open 7 days a week
10.00am - 5.00pm (last entry 4.00pm)
Winter time: October to March open 5 days a week (Mon to Fri)

Fright Night

Are you brave enough to visit the ancient farm at night? Come along if you dare. Who knows what you may find lurking...

It's back! After a successful first year Butser Ancient Farm are proud to present Fright Night 2016!

More jumps, more screams and more scares! This year's event asks you to face your fears in our 3 separate interactive experiences: Pulling Teeth, Lights Out and Toybox. Can you find the exit before your time runs out?

Tickets must be booked for a timed slot in advance. You will be guided round the event in groups of 15, and the whole experience will last approximately 45 minutes.

There will be a bar on site for Dutch courage before hand and for settling nerves afterwards.
