“Do It” Family Archaeology Day

  • 25 July 2014 10am-5pm

Consider this as a drop in session where the whole family can explore the site of prehistoric and Roman experimental archaeology. Bring a picnic and enjoy the day while the children discover many wonderful things by having a go!

Activites in the past have included artefact identification, water divining, metal detecting, archaeology, Roman warriors, dressing up, Iron Age life activities such as spinning, weaving and cooking. Every year we try to increase the offered activities however the final list will not be confirmed until nearer the time.

Flint Knapping Weekend

  • 9 — 10 August 2014 10am-5pm

The society will be giving flint knapping demonstrations and also will be available to discuss the finer points of flint knapping with the public.

This is a great opportunity for people interested in this ancient skill to discover more about it.

Flint Knapping Workshop

  • 13 September 2014 10am-4pm

A day workshop on 13th September.

This is lead by an experienced tutor and is a hands on workshop where they can do flint knapping and learn more about it.

Places must be prebooked on this workshop, the cost is £50.00. Call 02392 598838 to book.
