Hall Place is a fine Tudor mansion built almost 500 hundred years ago in the reign of Henry VIII for Lord Mayor of London, Sir John Champneis. It boasts a magnificent panelled Tudor Great Hall and minstrels gallery, and views over award winning gardens, with topiary, herb and secret garden and inspirational herbaceous borders. In its former walled gardens is a plant nursery and sub-tropical plant house where you can see ripening bananas in mid-winter. There is a shop and numerous exhibitions, including the opportunity to purchase artists work. Various rooms, including the Great Hall, are avaliable for hire for weddings and other events. Our successful and varied educational programme is cross curricular and utilises both house and grounds for fun, hands-on workshop sessions.
