A rich and varied landscape buzzing with wildlife
If you’re new to exploring the countryside Witley and Milford Commons is a good place to start. It’s easily accessible and the footpaths and bridleways are clearly marked, you can’t get lost. The Commons is a lovely spot for family picnics too.

The countryside is an area of great contrasts with extensive heathland views and secluded woodland glades. There’s always something new to see; from the breathtaking purple heathers and buzzing insects to majestic trees and strange fungi. Witley is a fungi paradise.

During the warmer months the Commons are alive with bird song from birds like Tree pipits and Woodlarks.

Witley and Milford Commons is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Come to Witley Court to exercise your historical enquiry skills using both primary and secondary sources. Investigate the magnificent house, reveal its luxurious past and its sad demise, and learn something of the men, women and children that lived their lives in and around this incredible monument to the Victorians.

How to obtain
