The magnificent cross-shaped keep of Warkworth, crowning a hilltop rising steeply above the River Coquet, dominates one of the largest, strongest and most impressive fortresses in northern England. The Duke's Rooms in the castle keep are open on Wed, Sun and Bank Holidays from 21 March to 30 September.
Please note: the Hermitage is currently closed until Easter 2009 but all other areas of the site remain open.

Join the 15th Century folk of the York City Levy as they take up residence within the castle walls. There will be demonstrations of various medieval past times and crafts depicting the variety of medieval jobs and positions in a castle.

The Road to Flodden
The English soldiers make ready for battle, encamped within the walls of the castle, once taken by the Scots. Now the soldiers of the Queen, under the sacred banner of St Cuthbert, muster, train, relax and make ready.
