Bolsover is a 17th century house built on the site of a Norman fortress and is a wonderful place to meander and muse. See the fairytale house, designed as a fantasy house for entertaining, of rooms stacked on top of one another to create the "Little Castle" with its range of charming and spectacular interiors.

12 Caesar paintings based on originals by Titian. They were commissioned in the 17th century by William Cavendish and are back at the castle after being taken away in the 1970s for restoration work.

Easter Adventure Quest

Adventurers wanted this Easter weekend! You'll meet characters from the past with stories of times gone by - maybe a king, a butler, a Roman centurion or even a monk. These honourable folk will be happy to help you on your quest as you explore Bolsover Castle and crack the clues. Rise to the challenge and win your chocolate reward. It's time to get hands-on with history.

Witness expert horsemen in flamboyant 17th Century costume put horses through their paces to baroque music in the spectacular surroundings of the Riding School at Bolsover Castle. Behold breathtaking displays of cavaliers in training, as the majestic horses master the techniques created by William Cavendish. St George's Day

Witness the ultimate showdown as gallant St George takes on his arch nemesis in England’s most legendary battle. Enjoy medieval music, side-splitting story telling and the big battle - George v. Dragon! Mini knights can pick a sword and advance in the childrens battle drill as St George himself teaches you the art of dragon slaying. Will you be good enough for him to Knight you?

Knights Tournament

Marvel at our noble knights as they take on the ultimate medieval contest. Swords will be wielded, archery skills tested and helmets battered as these skilled men are put to the test in each nail-biting round. Soak up the sights and sounds of daily life in a medieval encampment and smell the food cooked on an open fire. Let your little knights feel the weight of real armour and burn off energy in battle drills.

Siege!

Catapult yourself into the awesome spectacle of a medieval castle under attack. Take cover! Witness the opposing forces prepare for battle, pick your side and check your armour before the awe-inspiring weapons hurtle into action. Experience the fear and anticipation of battle with the rallying cry of commanders as they prepare their knights for the impending attack. Budding young knights can test their bravery and burn off their energy in mini battle drills.
