Bolsover is a 17th century house built on the site of a Norman fortress and is a wonderful place to meander and muse. See the fairytale house, designed as a fantasy house for entertaining, of rooms stacked on top of one another to create the "Little Castle" with its range of charming and spectacular interiors.

12 Caesar paintings based on originals by Titian. They were commissioned in the 17th century by William Cavendish and are back at the castle after being taken away in the 1970s for restoration work.

Join Raphael Falconry as they recreate the role of royal Falconers and Hawkers at Christmas time in England. Hunting with trained birds of prey was the favourite winter sport of medieval kings and nobles but it was also an activity essential to the supply of fresh game for the Christmas Feast. Learn how hawks were trained to catch specific birds and animals for the royal table. Plus, discover the seasonal traditions of medieval Falconers and the history of some of our most popular Christmas birds.
