The Tall Ship operates a programme of year-round maritime themed events and activities, with specially devised talks and tours and school visits. Explore every nook and cranny of the Glenlee, including the Captain’s cabin, the Main deck house and interactive games in the cargo hall, below the water line! Visit the mini cinema and under 5’s play area in the cargo hold, take part in our mouse hunt and put your questions to our working ship’s crew. We also have a souvenir gift shop and coffee shop on board.

The Tall Ship is now FREE to enter for individuals and families (up to a maximum of 8 people per group). To enable Free Entry, The Tall Ship relies on support from our visitors by using our cafe, gift shop and purchasing our guide book

Jiggin in the Riggin

Ceilidh the night away below the decks of The Tall Ship. With fantastic live music from the previous Scottish Traditional Music Awards’ 'Ceilidh Dance band of the year Deoch ‘n’ Dorus, your ears are in for a true treat! All dances will be talked through, making this event perfect for absolute beginners and seasoned pros alike. You can even just sit back with a drink from the licensed bar and enjoy the music in unique, atmospheric surroundings. Don’t miss this superb opportunity to Strip the Willow on the water, and dance The Gay Gordons on the glorious S.V. Glenlee, better known as The Tall Ship! Tickets include entrance to the ceilidh and your fill of traditional Scottish stovies to keep your energy up for dancing the night away!

See Life on the Ocean Wave

  • 14 — 15 May 2016 11am-4pm

Transport yourself back to the early 1900s and experience life on a working cargo ship! For one weekend only The Tall Ship will be ‘brought to life’ so that you can experience the ship as though you are part of the crew on a voyage. Stationed around the ship, costumed crew will be enabling visitors to see first-hand the types of duties that would have been done. Join the cook in the galley to make ‘ship’s biscuits’, try your hand at knot tying with the sailmaker, practice your wood carving skills with the carpenter and the captain’s wife will even be on hand so you can try knitting and embroidery. On board there will also be, an animal petting zoo, face painting, temporary tattoos and to top it all off, live music!
