Who we are

Culture24, the organization that publishes the Culture24 website, www.show.me.uk and a family of supported sites is a registered charity that encourages contributions from volunteer writers, usually NCTJ trainees.

We feature at least five new exhibition stories and five news stories every week on the site, many of which are written by volunteers.

What we are looking for

If you are a student journalist, interested in what is going on in Britain’s museums and galleries and are keen to get some work published, we are always looking for new volunteers to review the wealth of new exhibitions that take place every year.

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a newshound and have ideas for news stories that you think are appropriate for our site we would also like to hear from you. Please make sure you look at our content to get a feel for what we publish, before sending in ideas.

What's in it for you

Working with student journalists keeps our content lively and fresh but what is in it for you?

In return for your hard work you will get a byline and we will give you feedback on your writing. We are all ex-NCTJ trainees at Culture24 and realise how difficult and frustrating it can be for new journalists looking to make their mark. Writing for us will provide valuable work experience and is a to build up an online portfolio of published work with by-lines.

How does it work?

Our volunteer set up is informal, but structured and lasts for three months. If you fit the bill you will be assigned a Culture24 journalist who you will work with to produce as many or as few stories as you wish. It's important for you to know that there's a limit on it - we won't be keeping you in our clutches forever!

How to get involved

We are always keen to hear from anyone interested in writing for us. In the first instance send a copy of your CV to the Web Editor, Richard Moss at richard@culture24.org.uk.
